YOU WANNA SURVIVE - OR THRIVE? AN UPDATE
Well, the response to that article was far better than I would have hoped. So much so that I will soon have a book out that will expand on every single one of the points discussed in the article and pull even fewer punches.
I expect the doom-gloomers will burn me in effigy, but those who want to thrive will love what they read.

And Here - You Wanna Survive - Or Thrive?
Stay tuned for the upcoming book - You Wanna Survive - Or Thrive?

I agree so much with that article. I found myself sinking into the doom-gloomer mindset so much that I chastised myself for enjoying anything or spending any of my money on things I enjoy instead of canned food.
What's the point in living if you're not actually being alive?

Gabe I love your site but that Cop came at people in the exact wrong way. He sounded more like an occupier than a law enforcer. It's not there fault if they hit the wrong house? Implying that mistakes only happen in the ghetto? Laying blame at the feet of some of your readers that can't find jobs in this economy?
That goes against everything that I've read from you. Your talk about surviving and thriving is more the Gabe that I've grown to like and respect...that guest writer...not so much.

Solomon,
The cops are kicking in your door by mistake RIGHT NOW!!!
What are YOU GOING TO DO - RIGHT NOW?. That is all that matters at that moment. Why don't you understand that?
And there are very few guys that are skilled enough to be able to take out an entire Team. So my point simple. Put your hands up and survive the event in the ONLY way possible.
Wrong house? At that moment...it doesn't matter.
What they are doing is wrong? Again...at that moment it doesn't matter.
Occupier not Enforcer? Again...at that moment all of that is not relevant. The only relevant thing is how do you NOT get shot.
The ghetto? Well...listen. Unlike those "other people" you sound like an intelligent man. Do a research project for me. Do a study of all the SWAT entries in a given large city and then correlate that with the economic state of the locations. What I am saying is reality so don't blame me for what you find.
And laying blame on the readers that can't find a job in the economy? Really? I was at Best Buy today buying some computer equipment. Not only did they have a line of people buying high end stuff but I noticed a posting for job openings on the front door. There is always something to do my friend. Specially if you live in a crime ridden hood patrolled by those pesky jack-booted thugs.
It is perfectly true to say that if you don't want to have to deal with drug dealers that you should not live in areas where drug dealers live. And if drug dealers attract SWAT teams, it goes logically doesn't it, that if one takes steps to avoid the one, he will also avoid the second?
Look at it logfically and not hysterically and you will arrive at the same conclusions.
