Excellent points, Don. I have always felt that a purely defensive mindset is not enough. You have to turn it around into offensive to win. You showed that even planning to avoid a problem is a way of being on the offensive. Thanks!

My own Condition White tidbit: Last weekend my wife & I were returning from a trip & we stopped for gas. Being ever alert I immediately picked up on a hispanic gentleman walking forward of his car, towards the one parked in front of his at the gas pumps.

I completely missed the very elderly woman with the cane - he was offering to help her wash her windshield. She could barely stand much less reach across the hood of her truck to the windshield.

I was so busy watching my backside that I'd neglected my duty, looking for trouble but not seeing someone in need of help. Felt like a total twerp, that I did.

Ansel, Sometimes we get so focused on the forest that we can't see the trees. Which is why our assessments need to be an exercise in observation; not just looking. We see this quite often in class during the after action assessment. People have a tendency to look, but not observe and they miss obvious things.

Take Care,
Don

Thanks VP; I'll be down there next week. I'll drop in and say hey.

I like that George.
